What is perpetualSKYPE?

perpetualSKYPE consists of an internet connected computer with webcam, a remote control program and SKYPE in your loved one's private bedroom and a similar setup in your own home or office. You can turn SKYPE on/off when you want to randomly communicate with your loved one.

Or you can randomly monitor caregiver staff when they provide service to your loved one. In some cases, it may even be possible to monitor the loved one on an iphone or similar device.
(Note: Caregiver personnel MUST first obtain permission from the client, guardian, or responsible family member if client is incapable of giving permission. The permission MUST be in writing and provide clearly defined rules for monitoring.)

The computer camera MUST be set in a manner so as NOT to have indecent exposure of your loved one. This will also be a staff training situation.

It is STRONGLY suggested that perpetualSKYPE be used in a positive manner to improve staff relations if any necessary improvements are seen. By taking snapshots with SKYPE and documenting any negative situations, the caregiver provider will usually have enough information for corrective actions, or in extreme cases, termination.
